We're pleased to be partnering with Birda this year!
What is Birda?
Birda is a birdwatching app designed to help users log, identify, and share their bird sightings with a community of nature enthusiasts.
Birda is free to join.
The app offers features such as:
Bird Identification- Use AI or community help to identify bird species.
Logging Sightings- Easily record bird sightings and track your birding activities.
Discovering Birding Spots- Find new locations for birdwatching using an interactive map.
Community Engagement- Share your sightings and connect with other birders.
Birda is a great tool for both beginners and experienced birdwatchers to enhance their birding experience and contribute to wildlife conservation.
*Some advanced features (AI bird ID, etc. may require a subscription)
What does this Partnership mean?
It means that during the 2024 RGVBF we will be working with Birda to offer festival participants (and Birda users in Texas) a fun way to log bird sightings, and to see other participants bird sightings and sighting locations updated in real time during the RGVBF.
We will have a TV on display during the festival with the Birda Challenge updates, so be sure to check it out.
But that's not all...
Anyone who downloads the app completes the challenge has a chance to win one of two AI Powered Birdfy Bird feeders.
All Participants will earn a RGVBF Digital Finishers badge which will be displayed on your in app profile!
Note that Trip Leaders will not be required to log the birds in Birda, or take part but may if they choose to do so.
