We encourage you to find overnight accommodations in Harlingen during the Festival –trips leave early!
Be prepared for South Texas sun and bugs on all trips. Ticks and chiggers live here, so stay on paths when on field trips and avoid touching tall grasses when possible to avoid itchy britches! Bring appropriate remedies if chiggers love you.
Drinking water is always provided on trips, but PLEASE BRING YOUR REUSABLE WATER BOTTLES TO USE! Be sure to fill them up in the lobby before your trip!
Our guides will have scopes for most trips but if you really want to bring one on a trip, please arrive early to check with your driver first to see if it will fit on your van. For bus trips, tripods may need to be stored in the open luggage area in the bottom of the bus.
Hand-held cameras are fine to bring on all trips.
Large cameras and tripods likely cannot be accommodated on most van trips other than PhotoTrack. To view special trips for photographers, see the PhotoTrack section.
Vegetarian box lunches are available when lunch is provided – choose preference when registering online.
“Bus” and “Van” designation may change based on participant signups.
